The basics
What does a ball spotter actually do?
Someone who walks ahead of your group, watches every shot land, and either stands on your ball, points at it, or marks it with a flag so you go straight to it.
Are spotters trained?
Yes. Every spotter is hand-picked and trained on where to walk, where to stand, and how to handle whatever the course throws at them.
Can my spotter keep up with the cart?
Yes. Walking fast ahead of the group is the whole job.
Why would I want a spotter?
Ever hit a shot, swear you saw where it landed, then can't find the ball? With a spotter, you go straight to it. They're already there.
Am I too beginner for this?
Not at all. Spotters work for any skill level. Lost balls happen to everyone.
Will they read greens, pick clubs, or carry our bags?
No. Their focus is tracking shots and marking your ball so you go right up to it. If they have a rangefinder on them they can call yardages, but they won't guess. Less time hunting for balls, more time enjoying your round.
What does it cost?
$66 per round (18 holes) for 4 players. About $16.50 a player.

Booking & tipping
How do I book a spotter?
Scan the QR code at your course's front desk, or visit book.holdmytee.app. No download or signup needed. Pick your tee time and group size, and we'll match you with a spotter.
Do I book my golf tee time through Hold My Tee?
No. Book your tee time at the course like you normally would. Hold My Tee is for the spotter only.
What if I don't see my course?
A course only shows up once a spotter's working there. Tell us yours and we'll work on getting one. Suggest a course.
What if it's just me or 2 of us?
You can book at any group size. The price is per round, not per player, so if it's just 2 of you the cost per person is higher. You still get a spotter for the whole round. Foursomes get the best value.
What if I'm running late?
Call or text your spotter through Hold My Tee. They'll meet you at the first tee.
What's the cancellation policy?
Depends on booking type. Scheduled (you picked the time): free until 24 hours before tee, 50% inside 24 hours, no refund inside 6 hours. Instant (next available spotter): full refund anytime before tee, no refund after.
What if my spotter doesn't show up?
You'll be refunded in full. Email support@holdmytee.app and we'll make it right.
My round got rained out. Am I charged?
If the course closes the round or refuses to start play due to weather, you won't be charged.
How does tipping work?
After the round we'll email you a link to tip and rate your spotter. Cash works too. 100% goes to them.
